Development of the MIFUJIRATOR Air Conditioner

The commercial air conditioner MIFUJIRATOR was completed in May 1951 to become Japan's first packaged air conditioner. Until that time, mainstream air conditioners required parts to be individually assembled upon delivery to the customer. For that reason, a great deal of time was required before operation start, and it was essential for a person to be present with knowledge of parts assembly and adjustment methods in order to fully demonstrate the air conditioner's performance. However, with the MIFUJIRATOR, anyone could operate an air conditioner just by pushing a button. This made the MIFUJIRATOR a revolutionary product of its time. Because of its convenience, the air conditioner enjoyed a solid reputation and became an unprecedented hit. This established the foundation for Daikin to become the leading manufacturer of commercial air conditioning in Japan.
