In comparison to other polymers, fluoropolymer excel in heat, chemical and weather resistance. Other than that, they have very unique characteristics such as non-stick property and low friction. They are widely used in production equipment, piping and tanks to improve efficiency and purity, protect equipment and ensure maintenance-free running under harsh conditions.
Note: Excluding the United States and Taiwan, "POLYFLON" is used as our PTFE trademark. In the United States, the PTFE trademark is "DAIKIN-POLYFLON" and in Taiwan the trademark is "DAIKIN PTFE." |

| POLYFLON PTFE (PTFE) |
Of all the fluoroplastics products, PTFE offers the highest heat resistances at 260℃(maximum temp. for continuous use). It is not corroded by most chemicals and has good electrical insulation and dielectric characteristics. Moreover, it has a unique non-stick property and the lowest coefficient of friction amongst solids.
It is the most widely used fluoroplastics, now found in O-rings, gaskets, bearings, tube, wiring, hot plates and irons for its non-stick property, as well as chemical tank linings. A diversified product lineup is available for selection according to characteristics required by final products or production method. Daikin has also developed a next generation PTFE - New POLYFLON PTFE - that draws from the characteristics of fluorine to offer improved workability and creep property. It is meeting the needs in a wide range of fields and applications beginning with semiconductors and machines. |

| NEOFLON PFA (PFA) |
PFA exhibits thermal characteristics similar to PTFE, being able to withstand super low to high temperatures (260℃maximum temp. for continuous use ). It is also transparent and mechanically strong under high temperature. NEOFLON PFA has excellent moldability for easy processing by extrusion to the same degree as general thermoset plastics.
It is used where purity is important, such as in semiconductor wafer baskets, piping couplings and non-corrosive linings. Furthermore, in response to the high purity, high density needs of LSIs, Daikin has developed a moldable PFA that greatly reduces fluorine ion concentration and excels in surface flatness. Needless to say, demand is growing.
In addition to moldable materials, powder paint and film for producing linings without pinholes are also available. |

| NEOFLON FEP (FEP) |
| Except for the fact that heat resistance is slightly low at a 200℃maximum temp. for continuous use, FEP has almost the same characteristics as PTFE. It offers the same workability as PFA and can be used in injection molding to the same degree as general thermoset plastics. It is widely used in computer wiring, LAN cables and other wiring applications that require high speed communications, because of its good dielectric characteristics, flame retarding property (low smoke generation) and workability. Also, it is used as film in solar collector covers and mold release agent with polyurethane, because of its weather resistance and transparency. It is also available as powder paints for producing pinhole-less linings. |

| In terms of heat resistance, ETFE is about middle of the spectrum with a 150℃maximum temp. for continuous use. It offers the same workability as PFA and can be used in injection molding to the same degree as general thermoset plastics. Its characteristics are best exhibited in applications that require mechanical toughness, chemical and heat resistance, and electrical characteristics. It is used in automotive fuel hose linings of low flow lines, chemical pump housings and robot wiring. |
