The communities residing around the national park face a difficult situation when it comes to the sustainable use of natural resources, and their economic opportunities are extremely limited. As a result, encroachment into the national park has occurred in order to make a living by expanding unauthorized agriculture, illegal logging, poaching and other such illicit efforts. The destruction of forests also causes the reduction and division of habitat for plants and animals.
In the Reforestation Project being advanced by Daikin Industries, we will provide environmental education to local stakeholders and communities, and strive to strengthen the management structures, aiming the long-term protection of the natural environment.
Moreover, we use a mobile environmental classroom built into a vehicle providing environmental education to raise awareness of the surrounding communities. We believe that such glass-root efforts are very important to assure the sustainability of our Reforestation Project.
