in Japan2: Reduce Air-Conditioning Burden with Zeffle Heat Blocking Paint

Energy efficiency is crucial in factories, where air-conditioning accounts for a large portion of the power consumption. Daikin has always offered energy-efficient air-conditioners, but we recently came up with the idea of blocking the heat from the sun on the factory roof.

Zeffle heat blocking paint was developed using a fluororesin for making paint. Compared to normal paint, Zeffle reduces the temperature of the roof surface by 15 to 20°C, and this prevents the inside of the building from getting hotter. Normally, the sun hits factory roofs during the daytime and increases the surface temperature, but the special heat blocking pigment in this product reflects the sun’s heat. As well, because fluorine is weather resistant, even years of exposure to UV rays, wind, and rain will not deteriorate the paint film nor reduce its blocking effect.

In other words, Zeffle heat blocking paint is an air-conditioner that you paint on. It is just the kind of product you’d expect from Daikin, a leader in both air-conditioning and chemicals. Whenever customers upgrade their equipment, the Domestic Air-conditioning Sales Division recommends the use of Zeffle in order to save even more on electricity.

We hope to promote the use of Zeffle beyond factories to urban buildings, stores, and residences as a way to contribute to the reduction of the heat island syndrome.

Special heat-blocking pigment reflects the sunlight Zeffle heat blocking paint alleviates the heat island phenomenon in cities. It is also effective when painted onto tanks.
