Receiving Interns
In 2007, more than 400 students from all over Thailand visited Daikin Compressor Industries Ltd. (DCI). DCI provides a place for them to learn about our environmental activities and quality control in production lines. DCI also provides a long-term internship program with a vocational school in northeast Thailand, where job opportunities are few. Fifty-seven students who aim to become mechanical engineers have been trained for 10 months. In this way, DCI plays an active part in supporting them in seeking employment.

Daikin Contribution to Nobel Peace Prize
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) joined former U.S. Vice President Al Gore in receiving the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.
The IPCC experts who gather from around the world recently submitted their final report to the United Nations. Taking part in this report were two Daikin employees, who helped create guidelines for making a refrigerant that curbs global warming and protects the ozone layer. One Daikin employee also took part in the creation of IPCC guidelines for calculating each country's greenhouse gas emissions. They contributed to this Nobel Peace Prize through their accumulated expertise, and for this, they received a letter of thanks from the IPCC.
