in Japan1: VRV III Has Remote Control to Keep the System in Tune with Changing Customer Conditions

Improving the energy efficiency of commercial facilities and office air-conditioners is crucial if a company is to successfully reduce its global warming impact.

In November 2006, Daikin released the VRV III. This product has an optimized heat exchanger, an improved air discharge grill, and a stronger airflow despite the same low-noise fan and quiet operation. It also achieves the industry's highest level of energy efficiency with its improved high-efficiency inverter.

Daikin also has a new service product, a remote energy control service called "Sho-ene Toban*." The product achieves dramatic energy savings through remote tuning of the air-conditioner's operating parameters to match the customer's particular installation, use, daily weather changes, and air-conditioning load. Using the "Sho-ene Toban" allows users to not only run individual air-conditioners efficiently but also to reduce eletricity bills by up to 20% a year.

As well, the maximum pipe length has been extended from 300 m to 1,000 m, making the system easy to adapt to large buildings and building with many small rooms, such as hotels and hospitals. In addition to an automatic refrigerant refilling function that ensures high-quality installation, VRV III has a refrigerant leakage detection function to make the product more reliable in preventing refrigerant from entering the atmosphere.

*Customers must sign a contract agreement with Daikin before purchasing the "Sho-ene Toban"(requires a separate service charge).
