Daikin Industries has joined with Daikin AC (Americas) in donating a range of heating and air-conditioning systems to the newly renovated ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers) headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A.
This renovation was funded through donations of equipment, services and furnishings from more than 20 companies and individuals including Daikin Industries, Ltd., as well as the ASHRAE Foundation.
The Daikin systems serving the first floor and the Learning Center provide a solution to increase the usable space without costly building modifications. Daikin's contribution to the renovation includes VRVIII (Variable Refrigerant Volume heat recovery) and VRV-S (Variable Refrigerant Volume heat pump) systems. A Daikin Intelligent Touch Controller, BACnet® gateway interface and 24-hour online remote monitoring system are also installed. The R-410A refrigerant, individual zone control capabilities and heat recovery technology help ASHRAE to reach its goals of building an energy efficient and sustainable Headquarters.
In addition, Daikin is supporting naming of the reception area as the Daikin Reception Area, and a vegetative roof garden as the Daikin Sustainability Garden.
The Grand Opening Ceremony was held at the newly renovated facility on October 23, 2008.
