Publicizing Environmental Efforts through Booklets and the Internet
“Tell Us About Daikin and the Environment!”
The Daikin Group communicates its environmental efforts via a range of sources in order to help the public know about our environmental philosophy and conservation activities. In addition to the Environmental Report (now called the CSR Report), published by Daikin Industries since 1998, we put out separate regional reports for the Daikin Group in Europe, China, and Southeast Asia.
In FY2006, we published Tell Us About Daikin and the Environment!, a booklet written in plain language to teach children about Daikin's environmental conservation activities. People visiting our home page can get enjoyable, easy-to-understand information on Daikin's environmental activities including lessons led by the Daikin mascot.
Introducing Daikin's Environmental Products at International Exhibitions
Eco Products International Exhibition 2006
In October 2006 in Singapore, the Daikin Group took part in Eco Products International Exhibition 2006, an international trade fair for environmental products and services. The fair had approximately 35,000 visitors coming to see exhibits by 107 companies and organizations, 50 more than the FY2005 event.
Daikin introduced its environmental efforts in Singapore, technologies for energy-efficient products, and products containing no hazardous substances.
In China, Custom-Made Environmental Seminars for Children
The Daikin Group participates in environmental education and awareness activities aimed at teaching future generations how to solve today's environmental problems by living an eco-friendly life today.
Daikin followed up its FY2005 participation in the Nishinomiya City Environmental Learning Support Program Development project by leading lessons at elementary schools in FY2006. Under this project, private enterprises, schools, and non-profit organizations jointly create environmental education programs that the private enterprises lead in schools.
In China as well, Daikin (China) Investment has been conducting its own children's environmental seminars aimed at local elementary school students (the Beijing Office since FY2005 and the Shanghai office since FY2006).
Daikin Fluorochemicals Honored for Environment and Safety in China
In July 2006, Daikin Fluorochemicals (China) Co., Ltd. was honored as an Environmentally Friendly Company by Suzhou City. The award recognized the company's outstanding efforts in managing air and water quality and promoting energy efficiency. And in March 2007, Daikin Fluorochemicals was honored as a Company Achieving Safe Manufacturing Standards by Changshu City. |
