Environmental Action Plan

Overview of FY2006 Successes

Daikin Achieves Overall Targets

Under the recently established Environmental Action Plan 2010, Daikin is focusing on measures to prevent global warming.

  1. To ensure our products are environmentally conscious, we have set voluntary environmental standards, with products achieving these standards designated as Daikin Eco-Products. Under targets for 2010, we are aiming to make at least 60% of our products achieve the even stricter standards for Daikin Super Eco-Products.
  2. We established the Green Heart Factory system to reduce environmental burden during the manufacturing stage. This is a Daikin in-house standard for evaluating the environmental consciousness of plants and it will allow us to create plants worthy of an environmentally advanced company. Our target for 2010 is to achieve Green Heart Factory status for all plants in Japan and for major plants overseas.
  3. Another key to preventing global warming is the recovery and destruction of refrigerants (fluorocarbons). For 2010, we have set a fluorocarbon emission ratio of 0.4% or less for our plants and are working to reach this at our domestic and overseas bases.

As shown in the table on the right, we were able to reach our overall targets for the efforts we undertook in FY2006. We will continue these efforts in FY2007 towards our ultimate targets for 2010.
