Powerful
The use of a "receiver" enhances refrigerant control
Instead of using an accumulator to adsorb excess refrigerant, Daikin outdoor units have an in-pipe receiver located away from the compressor. By preventing the return of liquid to the compressor, this receiver enhances reliability.
Defrost control delivers powerful heating in extremely cold climates
To optimise heating performance, temperature differences between the air in the indoor/outdoor heat exchanger and the intake air are monitored and accurate adjustments made to provide the best operating parameters, such as activating the defrost mode and minimising indoor temperature drops caused by frost. For example, if the outdoor temperature falls to -1.5 ℃, the integral heating capacity is raised about 20%.
Suited for year-round cooling applications
Cooling is efficient even in winter when indoor temperatures are higher than those outside, such as in underground public spaces or offices with many computers.
• Heat pump/RY71–140LU: possible up to -5℃
• Cooling only/R71–140LU:
possible up to -15℃
Installation of Year-Round Cooling Kit(Option) is required.
Installation and maintenance
Pre charged for up to 30 metres
If refrigerant piping length does not exceed 30 m, there is no need for on-site gas charging.

4-direction piping offers greater layout freedom
Piping can be run from the front, bottom, right or rear surface according
to how the unit is installed.
Facilitates pump down
A pump-down switch is provided to make it easier to collect refrigerant if the unit is to be moved or the layout modified. This lessens the environmental impact by preventing the release of refrigerant into the atmosphere.
Low gas level detection function
Effective gas monitoring reduces the labour required for operation, maintenance, and repairs.
Durability
Anti-corrosion treated heat exchange fins
The outdoor unit's heat exchanger fin has been specially pretreated with an acrylic PE coating to improve their resistance to salt corrosion and atmospheric pollution.
