When the unit is turned off, the air inlet and outlet close, resulting in a compact form only 150 mm deep that is hardly noticeable as an air conditioner. Upon starting, the unit’s full performance is exploited when the entire front panel slides open and the shutter moves to reveal the air inlet and outlet.

Designed to Be Thin

Daikin achieved a 25% reduction in indoor unit depth. A mere 150 mm, this was achieved by applying unique technology that includes a slide-opening system, a high-efficiency slit fin heat exchanger, and a cross flow fan with smaller diameter.

The moving front panels realise optimal airflow. Upon startup, the upper panel slides outward and the lower panel upward, to reveal the air inlet and outlet, respectively, This innovative front panel design offers smooth movement and saves space.

Narrower gaps between the fins increase the available heat transfer surface area by 10%. The slit-fin heat exchanger reduces airflow resistance to maintain top performance and the combined single/dual row heat exchanger enables an even thinner design.

A cross flow fan with optimized blade configuration is employed in the outdoor unit for a 20% reduction in fan diameter along with quiet operation and powerful airflow.

The Air-purifying filter employs a Titanium Apatite Photocatalyst to eliminate odour and remove bacteria and viruses. You can enjoy clean and comfortable air delivered quietly and naturally.

Thoroughly adsorbs microscopic particles, decomposes odours and even removes bacteria and viruses.

Titanium Apatite Photocatalyst

Micron-scale fibers trap dust while titanium apatite adsorbs organic contaminates such as bacteria and viruses. The titanium apatite is activated by natural light, causing it to break down and eliminate odours. This filter lasts for three years without replacement if washed about once every six months.

These filters are not medical devices.
Benefits such as the adsorption and removal decomposition of bacteria and viruses are only effective for substances that are collected on and in direct contact with the Titanium Apatite Photocatalytic Air-Purifying Filter.

Heating operation

Comfortable Mode (Draft-prevention operation)

Comfort is enhanced by gently delivering hot and cold air to prevent drafts. During cooling, the flap angle is fixed to a near horizontal position to prevent direct contact with cold air. During heating, the flap is fixed to a near vertical position pointing downward so that warmth is delivered directly to the feet.

Vertical auto-swing/Horizontal auto-swing/3-D airflow

Vertical auto-swing automatically moves the flaps up and down to distribute of cool or warm air from ceiling to floor. Horizontal auto-swing automatically moves the louvers left and right to spread air consistently across the room. "3-D" airflow combines Vertical and Horizontal auto-swing to circulate air to every part of the room, for uniform air-conditioning of even large spaces.
