Creating Value for the Earth

Carbon neutrality initiatives

Development of environmentally-friendly factories

The factories at Shiga Plant strive for significant reductions of CO2 emissions through the implementation of an integrated air conditioning system and LED lighting using the Daikin Builmulti Intelligent Partner System (D-BIPS) along with ongoing improvements in air conditioning systems.
We have implemented our KARAKURI KAIZEN system in production lines to reduce environmental load and lower air pressure used by equipment and devices, leading to product development capable of reducing processes, aiming to lower energy consumption from a broad range of important perspectives. With the goal of achieving carbon neutrality, we are actively pursuing zero CO2 emissions at factories by 2030.
To further enhance our contributions to the environment, we strive for zero industrial waste by promoting the separation of waste generated at each factory and implementing a circular economy system for aluminum used in heat exchangers.
Our employee education includes water quality accident and emergency response training for all departments to reinforce knowledge regarding initial measures taken in response to oil and cleaning agent spills. Such programs ensure increased awareness of the environment and day-to-day production activities that consider the future of the Earth.

Daikin’s Unique Production System

Delivering of the right products at the right time in the right quantity

Example of Production System <Assembly line for outdoor units>

Providing what’s needed, when it’s needed, in the amount needed: Daikin’s unique, constantly evolving PDS (Production of Daikin System) delivers on efficiency that creates value. At the forefront of the PDS is the High-cycle Production (multi-product, variable-quantity production) system, which is capable of swift variations in product type and quantity according to requirements. Tapping Daikin’s exclusive IT resources, this system responds rapidly and flexibly to changing customer needs using a production plan that reflects up-to-the-minute data on markets, inventories, components, and human resources. With the introduction of this system, we are now capable of adjusting production capacity on a day-to-day basis. Daikin endeavors to both minimize lead times and lessen environmental impact by constantly developing the Daikin production system to improve processes even further.

Responding to any change with multi-product, variable-quantity production

Satisfying diverse customer needs by manufacturing 80 to 150 different products every day.

Production lines aligned with SDGs

Our plant manufactures products that align with SDGs, including gender equality.

Automatic conveyor for components

Employees discuss and implement ideas to minimize loss. An example is reducing transport services that fail to create added value.
