Daikin and Conservation International have been conducting this project in close collaboration with local communities.
In Indonesia, many local people make a living by logging of timber, cutting down trees to expand farmlands and plantations. In order to end the vicious cycle of tree planting and illegal logging, we seek to realize sustainable forest restoration and protection by providing comprehensive support to local communities, including the development of alternative livelihoods such as forest management and conducting environmental education about the impacts of logging and other issues.
The project has been designed with CI's guidance, in a form that makes it even more effective by combining smooth project promotion and scientific investigations in order to deal with the problem at its roots.
Daikin has a long history of conducting air conditioning business in Indonesia, the location that we have selected for the project. This is also a CI's strategic biodiversity protection region.
