Over 1,000 Ukrainian employees work in Daikin’s European entities, such as the manufacturing plants in the Czech Republic. While breaking heart for the difficult situation in their home country, Daikin is watching the Ukraine situation and hopes for a return to the peaceful and safe world as soon as possible.
Recently, Daikin decided to donate 1 million euro to UNHCR, which engages in activities to protect and support people in Ukraine, through Daikin Europe N.V., a subsidiary in Europe. In addition to that, Daikin’s products will be provided for refugee accommodation and educational facilities for Ukrainian people.
Also, a charity fund will be established by Daikin group employees to support Ukrainian employees and their families.
Regarding our operations, Daikin’s entities in Europe have suspended business in Russia in consideration of the current situation of economic, logistics and others.
While monitoring the Ukraine situation carefully, Daikin will continue to ensure safety and security of its employees and cooperate with the humanitarian assistance activities.
