Daikin Industries, Ltd. announces the relocation of its Tokyo office (Minato-ku, Tokyo) to Tokyo Midtown Yaesu (Chuo-ku, Tokyo) with operations scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.
Designed to enhance the productivity and quality of work of each employee, the new office creates an optimal office layout and IT infrastructure environment to meet all types of needs including areas to promote greater individual concentration and areas to stimulate open group discussions. A new “Co-Creation” area has been established to attract various stakeholders and foster collaborative creation activities both inside and outside the company as well as inside and outside Japan. The “Co-creation Lab” has private rooms which are available for use by co-creation partners and experts such as startups and university professors and provides space for employee interaction. The "Co-Creation Square" was conceived with an atrium space to hold events and seminars for a large number of people, allowing employees who are not directly involved to observe them.
In November 2022, Daikin Industries moved its head office in Osaka to Umeda Twin Towers South (Kita-ku, Osaka) ahead of its 100th anniversary in 2024. Having expanded business to more than 170 countries around the world, the Daikin Group is working to create environments where diverse human resources from both Japan and overseas. In Tokyo, a major gathering place for people, information and technology in industry, government, and academia, Daikin aims to strengthen business development that achieves both social and economic prosperity, creates new value, and facilitate advocacy activities.
Relocating the Tokyo office to Tokyo Midtown Yaesu, which is directly connected to Tokyo station, the gateway to Japan, is expected to not only improve productivity and quality of work styles of Daikin employees but also to accelerate company activities for collaborative creation, both inside and outside the company, as it strives for further growth and development in its next 100 years.
