Contributing to the Development of Skilled Industrial Talent in Senegal by Providing Training Programs
OSAKA, Japan, August 21, 2025 — Daikin Industries, Ltd. announced that today it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Government of Senegal and the Senegal-Japan Vocational Training Centre (CFPT-SJ), together with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Toyota Tsusho Corporation, NEC Corporation, Toda Corporation, and Yamaha Motor Co., This MOU outlines the provision of training programs to support the development of skilled industrial talent.
The MOU specifies that the parties will cooperate to build Senegal’s industrial workforce. Daikin intends to provide a training program for the CFPT-SJ starting in 2026, focused on developing after-sales service personnel in the air conditioning sector.
In recent years, the demand for an industrial workforce in Senegal has become increasingly sophisticated and diversified, requiring the development of human resources aligned with market and industry needs. At the same time, companies expanding in the region face growing challenges in developing and recruiting high-level technical talent.
Against this backdrop, the CFPT-SJ, established in 1984 with grant aid from JICA, has become a core vocational-training institution not only in Senegal but also in the West Africa. Recognizing its pivotal role, the parties have signed the MOU to cooperate in the development of skilled industrial talent in Senegal at the facility of the CFPT-SJ.
Daikin is committed to collaborating with universities, vocational training schools, and other educational institutions worldwide to develop various human resources that contribute to advance the industry. As a global leader in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) sector, Daikin will lead the industry in human resource development and contribute to the sector’s growth.
