Notice Regarding Filing of Lawsuit in the United States Against the Company and Its Subsidiaries

Daikin Industries, Ltd. (the “Company”) hereby announces that the Company, and its U.S. subsidiaries, Daikin Comfort Technologies North America, Inc., Daikin Applied Americas Inc., Thermal-Netics LLC and/or Goodman Distribution, Inc. (collectively the "US Subsidiaries"), as well as many other companies, have been named as defendants in four lawsuits filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan (the "Lawsuits").
The Company has not been served with the complaints, but based on the public docket, the Company discloses the following:

1. Cause of Action and Circumstances Leading to Filing of Lawsuit

The plaintiffs have filed the Lawsuits as provisional class actions on behalf of those who purchased HVAC equipment sold in the United States on or after January 1, 2020, alleging that the defendants conspired to artificially increase prices for HVAC equipment, thereby causing damages.

3. Description of Lawsuit

In the complaints, the plaintiffs seek damages and other relief from the defendants, but no specific amounts claimed by the plaintiffs have been disclosed.

4. Future Outlook

If the Company is served with the complaint, it will take appropriate action analyzing the content of the plaintiff's claims. In the future, the Company or its subsidiaries or affiliates may be subject to similar litigation as the Lawsuits.
At this time, it is difficult to reasonably estimate the impact of the Lawsuits on the Company's business results. We will promptly disclose any matters that should be disclosed in the future.
