■Outline
These room air conditioners for the Japanese market feature easier installation and user-friendly operation across the product line, from small- to large-size units.
Designed with on-site installers in mind, every aspect of the installation process was thoroughly reexamined to minimize installation time and workload. These improvements help ensure consistent installation quality, giving consumers confidence and peace of mind.
Greater component standardization conserves resources and reduces environmental burden, while a timeless, minimalist design harmonizes with a wide variety of living spaces and remains appealing for years to come.

■Thoughts from the Designer
Beyond its stylish appearance, the product embodies our commitment through monozukuri to addressing a variety of social challenges, including labor and energy shortages, rising material costs, and disaster preparedness. Naturally, we hope to deliver a product valued not only by the end-users who purchase it, but also by the many professionals involved throughout its lifecycle, including the installation contractors, transportation providers, and maintenance technicians.

Portable Oxygen Concentrator (DN1M)
■Outline
Our portable oxygen concentrator (POC) and dedicated carrying bag were created to make trips out of the house easier. Designed as an integrated system for everyday use, the POC and carrying bag function as a single wearable system. The battery can be charged or replaced with the unit still in the bag, which can be used either as a backpack or a shoulder bag to suit individual preferences. By making it easier to go out, the design aims to improve the quality of life for users.

■Thoughts from the Designer
The number of patients requiring home oxygen therapy continues to increase. There is also a growing trend to replace oxygen cylinders with portable oxygen concentrators (POCs), which can be used wherever a power source is available, including during disasters. In developing the POC, we carefully examined each step involved in its use, focusing not only on the unit itself, but also on the carrying bag with equal attention to comfort and usability. We hope this product helps make it easier for patients to venture outside the home and live richer, more fulfilling daily lives.

■Outline
This air purifier was designed to have just the right presence in the home, fitting naturally into everyday life while providing lasting comfort. Featuring a filter requiring no replacement for 10 years and an easy-to-clean exterior, the unit offers stress-free maintenance. Despite its compact size, it delivers powerful airflow performance and has a low center of gravity that helps prevent tipping, allowing it to be placed in living rooms with confidence.

■Thoughts from the Designer
The air purifier was developed with great attention to keeping both air and living spaces clean. Seeking to balance ease of use as an everyday appliance with the presence of an interior design element, we created a design that conveys a sense of refinement while blending naturally into daily life. We hope the air purifier contributes to the creation of comfortable daily living spaces and enhances everyday life.

Air Conditioner (Ceiling Cassette)
■Outline
This cassette air conditioner is designed to meet the evolving demands of the ASEAN commercial sector, combining refined aesthetics with advanced features. The concept is expressed through a clean, adaptable panel inspired by ASEAN culture and an optimized system that delivers quiet, efficient airflow with individual louver control for faster cooling and greater comfort for tropical spaces.

■Thoughts from the Designer
Understanding the needs of ASEAN consumers was fundamental to this development. It shaped a more intentional design approach, allowing us to respond more meaningfully to the needs and expectations of the region.
As aesthetic preferences continue to evolve across different business environments, we sought to create a solution that balances design flexibility with the technological demands of a tropical climate. The result is a product that can adapt visually while delivering the performance required for the region.
Receiving the Good Design Award is a meaningful recognition of this approach, and encourages us to continue exploring how design can respond to regional needs with greater relevance and purpose.

Plugin Showcase
■Outline
This freezer showcase is designed for food retail stores. By combining a natural convection cooling system and glass doors, it achieves significant energy savings compared with the conventional forced-convection cooling system without glass doors. Improved product visibility and an easy-to-open door design further contribute to both increased consumer interest and greater energy efficiency.

■Thoughts from the Project Team
In the supermarket industry, putting doors on showcases has been widely believed to adversely impact sales. We felt that simply promoting the energy-saving benefits* of glass doors would be insufficient to encourage wider adoption. This prompted us to design a product that would create value for both the environment and the retailer. Instead, we worked to enhance both environmental and retail value by incorporating LED lighting and a range of glass door options that make both the products and the sales floor more attractive, thereby stimulating consumer interest.
We are still often met with the reaction, “Is this a Daikin showcase?” We hope this award raises awareness of Daikin’s efforts in the refrigeration field. Going forward, we will continue to expand our product lineup to contribute to both energy savings and to the creation of attractive retail environments.
*All models achieved an FY2020 energy-efficiency attainment rate of 100% or higher.

Expectations of today’s ASEAN younger generation go beyond mere utility: they extend to experiences that resonate with their values, aspirations, and desire for self-expression.
Recognizing this fundamental shift, the Daikin Air Creator series is designed to redefine conventional air products by moving beyond a purely functional focus to an experience-driven design approach.

Under the Midnight Rainbow Limited-time event
■Outline
With its brand tagline “Perfecting the Air,” Daikin Industries collaborated with Suntory at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan on the water show “Under the Midnight Rainbow” to convey the importance of air and water. Through a spectacular fusion of a giant water screen, fountains, lights, lasers, and music, the show incorporates a variety of elements that allow visitors to experience the invisible “Air,” conveying its essential role in supporting life and everyday living.

■Thoughts from the Director
This show sprang from a desire to bring the invisible “Air” together with water, light and music as a single experience. It is a great honor that the grand story, brought to life upon the water, has remained in the memories of so many people, transcending countries and languages, and has led to this recognition. I am deeply grateful to everyone whose dedication and hard work made the show possible.
