The Daikin Group expresses its deepest sympathy to those suffering from the impact of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria on February 6 and offers its sincerest hope for the earliest possible recovery and reconstruction of the disaster areas.
In view of the extensive damage by the earthquakes, Daikin Group has decided to make additional donation of 15 million yen (107,000 euro), as well as 3 million yen (20,000 euro) worth of supplies, to support the victims. Together with the already announced donation of supplies worth 32 million yen (230,000 euro) *1, this brings the total amount donated by the Daikin Group to 50 million yen (357,000 euro).
Daikin’s additional donation will go to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which is engaged in support activities for victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Daikin will also deliver relief supplies to the affected areas through the Turkey Disaster and Management Authority and the Turkish Red Crescent Society.
In addition, the Daikin Europe group employees in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) will raise donations, and Daikin Europe will deliver it to the affected areas adding an amount equal to the collected donations.
The Daikin Group will continue to cooperate in relief activities for the affected areas and contribute in a variety of ways as needed toward reconstruction.
