Challenging New Value Creation with Air at Toyota Woven City
Daikin Industries, Ltd. will begin demonstrations from autumn 2025 onwards at Toyota Woven City, a project currently underway in Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture, by Toyota Motor Corporation. The aim of the demonstrations is to develop new HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems that create spaces where people can enjoy greater comfort and better physical and mental health.
In recent years, interest in physical and mental health for a more fulfilling life has grown, particularly for the many people who suffer from hay fever, stress-induced fatigue, and poor quality of sleep. Not only are these obstacles to a healthy life, but they also present social issues in terms of lower work efficiency and increased medical expenses resulting in financial losses. As a "company committed to perfecting the air," Daikin is working to create new value with air and has been developing various initiatives to realize "pollen-less spaces" that minimize pollen concentrations in the air and "personalized functional spaces" that reduce stress and improve sleep quality by controlling the air environment and audiovisual information.
Toyota Woven City is a living laboratory where people actually live and work. Its environment can be considered as a test course for mobility to generate inventions and accelerate development and is a place where demonstrations are conducted to confirm how the introduced equipment and spaces are used in everyday life. By leveraging the range of data and the feedback from residents that will be continually obtained through the demonstration at Toyota Woven City, Daikin plans to create even greater value with air by challenging itself to realize "pollen-less" and "personalized functional" spaces that it has been working on until now.
Daikin will be conducting its demonstration at Toyota Woven City to achieve the following systems.
